The FADNET 3rd Annual Conference
Drugs. Families. Solutions
Getting On With Family Work

The FADNET National Conference is a not-to-be-missed opportunity for alcohol and drug clinicians, health and welfare workers, family clinicians, researchers, policy makers, students, and others to get together under the one roof to share family based practices. The 2007 conference focussed on interventions and partnerships that improve the health of all family members affected by substance use. Individuals who use drugs problematically are often someone’s parent, partner, sibling or someone’s child.

Evidence points to the effectiveness of family inclusive interventions. Services from across multiple systems such as drug treatment, mental health, child, family and parenting services have experience with this client group and all have a contribution to make.

This year's conference showcased innovative programs, both locally and world wide, and provided an opportunity for networking and future partnerships, and provided a fantastic opportunity for attendees to expand their professional knowledge and skills.

About FADNET

FADNET is a volunteer network of clinicians from the alcohol & other drug treatment sector. The network aims to promote current research and its practical implications to family work within the drug treatment sector, as well as learn from and partner with other service sectors to improve responses and outcomes for all family members affected by problematic substance use. As such presentations should include the practical implications for day to day practice as well as future initiatives.

FADNET conference delegates are interested in family practice and problematic substance use and may come from the health and welfare, drug treatment, education, community development, policy and research fields.
