On The Wagon Week

Feel like a drink? What could possibly make you think about giving up alcohol for a week? Well here is a challenge...

We are asking you to abstain from alcohol for one week and donate the money saved to Odyssey - or you could sponsor a friend to go on the wagon.

As Odyssey's CEO indicates: "We're not asking people to give up alcohol forever - just one week - and to donate some money to reducing the costs of alcohol and drug abuse."

On the Wagon is also a great opportunity for companies to get involved in a community initiative. For example:

• Companies can encourage their staff to abstain from alcohol for the week and donate the proceeds to Odyssey. Staff who don't want to participate can sponsor their friends to be involved.
• Companies can have alcohol free functions and staff drinks for the week, donating the savings to Odyssey House.

Earlier in 2004 On The Wagon Week raised over $5,500 for the Odyssey family units. In 2005 we are hoping to increase this to $8,000.

In late January 2005 Federation Square will be hosting the launch of On The Wagon Week. Watch this space for more details
